The London-based firm said the appointments increased the size of the SRI unit to 11 people, making it the largest dedicated SRI research and engagement team in Europe.

Waygood and Lankaster will work with the team on Friends Ivory's reo(r) programme. With reo(r), the fund manager engages with companies in which its clients invest to encourage them to move towards best practice management of social, environmental and ethical issues, when there is a business case for doing so.

Waygood joins Friends Ivory from WWF, the global environmental network, where he was head of environmental management and ethical investment.

Lankaster joins the fund manager from PricewaterhouseCoopers where she was a management consultant responsible for strategy consulting across the private and public sectors. Previously, she worked from the World Bank and the Aga Khan Foundation on social policy and enterprise development projects.
