Animal rights group suggests "Eat the Whales"

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) unveiled a billboard in downtown Vancouver this week that pictures a cartoon chicken and cow painting the sign with the message: "Eat the Whales."
The group said it opposes whale hunting but wanted to draw attention to the fact that many people get upset at the idea of killing whales but do not object to eating meat from chickens, cows and other land animals.
"Some people who blubber about harpooning whales don't hesitate to snag buckets of chicken wings," PETA's vegan campaign co-ordinator Andrew Butler said in a press release, which suggests whales are a more efficient food source.
A planned advertising campaign in the United States that would have urged sympathy for sharks was cancelled by PETA this week following two fatal shark attacks along the Atlantic coast.
The whale billboard is located only a short distance from several sushi restaurants and shares space with signs promoting beer and luxury cars.
