Lost baby whale nursed in kids' pool

The baby false killer whale, weighing 60 kg (132 pounds), beached itself this week on rocks on Hamilton Island on the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef on Australia's east coast.
Staff drained the chlorine water from the children's pool in the resort, replaced it with fresh water, and then transferred the few months old whale into the toddlers' pool.
"Staff have been in the pool overnight...they have been rehydrating the whale," a resort spokeswoman told Reuters.
"We are awaiting the arrival of a vet. Hopefully we can nurse it back to health and reunite it with the pod."
