US meat firm recalls chicken due to contamination

USDA said Luigino's Inc. distributed its Michelina's brand meat products
to retail stores throughout the United States and Canada. No illness has
been linked to the recalled products.
"We urge consumers to check their freezers," said Margaret O'K Glavin,
acting administrator for USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service.
"If they find any of the recalled products, consumers should not eat
them, but return them to the point of purchase." The problem was
discovered by the company. USDA said the chicken products were packaged
between Nov. 6 and Dec. 5.
Recalled products distributed in the United States were 5.5 ounce boxes
of Michelina's Zap'ems chicken littles. Products exported to Canada were
marked as chicken nuggets.
The front of each box bears the establishment number P-18297 on the
label inside the USDA seal of inspection.
