"A herd of 10 elephants stormed the village at Chokoria in Cox's Bazar district on Sunday. They also trampled down a dozen bamboo and straw houses and damaged crops," one official told reporters.

He said 15 villagers were injured by the elephants, which came from nearby forests.

Wild elephants have killed nearly 35 people in Chittagong and nearby Cox's Bazar districts so far this year, police said.
