Equilon Martinez catcracker up after long outage

"They have started up their catcracker. It is back up and running," said Randy Sawyer of Contra Costa County's hazardous materials unit.
Equilon closed down the gasoline-making unit at the 165,000 bpd refinery near San Francisco in mid-October after two accidental releases of catalyst, soot and hydrocarbons into the atmosphere.
The closure was prolonged when the company decided to bring forward scheduled maintenance work on the unit.
Sawyer said the catalytic cracker resumed operations around Wednesday of last week.
