Country: AUSTRALIA
"The Victorian Greenhouse Strategy will cut Victoria's greenhouse emissions by seven percent, or five to eight million tonnes, by 2010 - the equivalent of removing around three quarters of cars from Victoria's road," Victorian premier Steve Bracks said in a statement.
The strategy includes A$30 million for the Sustainable Energy Authority to support its energy efficiency and renewable energy programs and A$15 million for solar water heater rebates.
Another A$8.5 million will be available for a Renewable Energy Support, which will develop up to A$40 million in new projects, and A$750,000 will be used for the promotion of Green Power to electricity customers.
