Date: 03-Sep-02
Country: JAPAN
The agreement to cooperate over at least 10 years calls for Toyota to supply state-of-the-art hybrid system components to Nissan, the two automakers said in a joint statement.
As an initial project, Nissan will install a hybrid system being developed by Toyota in its vehicles to be sold in the United States in 2006.
Toyota is currently working with U.S. auto giant General Motors Corp on environmental technology, while Nissan is cooperating with partner Renault SA of France in fuel cells.
