The contract, which begins in 2004, will boost its Australian portfolio of renewable energy to 490 gigawatt hours a year - enough to power more than 87,000 homes and reduce greenhouse emissions by 510,000 tonnes annually, the company said.
Pacific Hydro will supply the wind power from its Portland wind farm project in Victoria state, which is set to become the largest wind farm development in the southern hemisphere.
Shares in Pacific Hydro were trading up 1.7 percent at A$2.89 at midday yesterday in an oaverall firmer market.
