Kemira to invest in new technology

Both plants are part of Kemira's Kemwater business and used for
producing water treatment coagulants.
"These investments are a further step in the Kemira Chemicals' new
'Vision of Green Chemistry' programme, which focuses on water
management, recycling and other environmental issues," Kemira Chemicals'
head Yrjo Sipila said in a statment.
Kemira said it would invest 2.7 million euros to double ferric chloride
production in Rheinberg, Germany, and 1.3 million euros in Pori,
Finland, to start producing low-managanese ferric sulphate.
The increased capacity in Rheinberg will allow Kemira to reduce energy
consumption and waste flows markedly, while the new production
technology in Pori will make the processing of drinking water more
simple, it said.
