France Hints at Freezing GMO Seed Sales - Paper

The government was gearing up to make such a move before
drawing up a new law governing genetically modified (GMO) crops
but planned to continue allowing laboratory research, it said.
"Everyone agrees when it comes to GMOs: we can't control
dissemination. Therefore we aren't going to take the risk," Le
Monde quoted Borloo as saying in its Friday edition.
The only GMO seed currently allowed to be sold in France is
the MON 810 produced by US biotech giant Monsanto.
