New Year to Start With Cold Snap and Snow

After a mild New Year's Day, the weather is set to change with a strong risk of snow storms and travel chaos, according to the Met Office.
Temperatures will struggle to pass two or three degrees Celsius with the wind chill factor making it feel even colder, said the Met's head of forecasting, Brian Golding.
Golding warned that snow could hit many parts of the country, bringing major disruptions.
"After a mild Christmas and New Year, we will notice a real change to some cold and wintry weather," he said in a statement.
"We will need to be prepared and wrap up well against the cold weather as we head back to work in 2008."
