Two British Women Drown in Spanish Flash Flood

The women had tried to cross a gully on foot in the town of L'Olleria during torrential rains and were swept away at about 8 p.m. (1800 GMT), a spokeswoman for the Valencia government said, adding there were no further details. Newspaper El Pais said the deceased mother was 47 years old and her daughter 14 and that they had been living in the area and were on their way home at the time.
