Woman Checks Quality Of Traditional Kashmiri Firepot Before Buying It In Srinagar

A woman checks the quality of a "Kangir", or traditional Kashmiri fire pot, before buying it from a vendor in Srinagar November 16, 2009.

With the arrival of winter in the Kashmir valley, people are beginning to stock up on traditional fire pots made of clay and twigs.

The fire pots are filled with hot coal and placed under the "Pheran", loose traditional clothing that covers one from the neck to the knees, for warmth during the harsh winter.
