Baby Beluga Whale Swims with Mother at Vancouver Aquarium

A volunteer monitors the progress of an 11 day old male calf as he swims alongside his mother, Aurora, a 14 year old Beluga whale at the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Center July 31, 2002. The baby beluga, who is to be named following a contest open to the public, is Aurora's second calf. She gave birth to Qila, another female beluga whale on July 23rd, 1995.
