Some of Dhaka's 5,500 three-wheelers with two-stroke engines line up for registration to operate in the Bangladeshi capital on August 31,2002. Bangladesh is allowing the registered three-wheels to operate in Dhaka streets until December 31 this year while it bans nearly 15,000 of such vehicles, responsible for much of the city's air pollution, from September 1.
