The monkey is one of almost 300 living at a palace in Lopburi that suffers from a skin disease, and Thai soldiers are currently sedating them with anaesthetics so they can tend to their disease.

The monkeys and the area in which they exist attract 3,000-4,000 tourists each day, and local authorities intend to tackle the problem quickly to keep it a popular tourist attraction.
