Thousands of people were marooned following monsoon flooding in eastern India where at least 15 new deaths were reported on Thursday, taking the total death toll in six weeks of flooding in the region to 206.

Officials say the floods caused 600 million rupees ($13.12 million) worth of crop damage in Bihar.
