The Ethiopian government has launched a scheme to move at least two million people from drought-prone to fertile areas, hoping to reduce the country's dependence on food aid.
So far, aid agencies estimate that 350,000 people have been resettled since the plan was launched last year.
Farmers who arrived in the Chawaka area four months ago complained that the government has failed to provide enough food, health care and schools for their new home, but many of them said they are keen to stay on and ensure their settlement succeeds.
