CHILE: May 7, 2008


Chile's Chaiten volcano continues to erupt south of Santiago in this image captured by the US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration's GOES-10 weather satellite at 14:45 UTC on May 6, 2008.


The image shows what NOAA describes as a "new major eruption of the volcano."
