Week 23: I resolve to buy more items in bulk to reduce packaging and waste less money.
Date: 10-Jun-09
Packaging makes up about one third of what I throw away. Buying in bulk is a great way to reduce the amount of packaging I use and can save me money. Cereal, flour, sugar, fruit, vegetables, cleaning products, toilet paper and many other household products are available for me to buy in bulk. I can also shop at local food co-ops, many of which encourage me to use my own containers. Things like soup, cereal, drinks, and snacks can all be easily stored and shelved to last for months.
Commitment Statement
I will buy more items in bulk to reduce my use of packaging and waste less money.
